Indexer ERD checklist

  • Status: Accepted
  • Date: 2026-01-25
  • Context:
    • We need a complete, ordered, and trackable checklist for implementing ERD_INDEXERS.md.
    • The checklist must reflect dependencies, support test-first execution, and avoid missed requirements.
  • Decision:
    • Add a dedicated ERD implementation checklist file that enumerates schema, procedures, services, behavior rules, and acceptance gates in dependency-first order.
    • Alternatives considered: keep ad-hoc notes or split by subsystem; rejected due to risk of omissions and loss of a single, authoritative implementation plan.
  • Consequences:
    • Positive: a single source of truth for the ERD execution plan and validation steps.
    • Trade-off: requires maintenance when ERD_INDEXERS.md changes.
  • Follow-up:
    • Keep ERD_INDEXERS_CHECKLIST.md synchronized with ERD_INDEXERS.md updates.
    • Use the checklist as the staging plan for implementation and testing phases.

Task record

  • Motivation:
    • Ensure ERD_INDEXERS.md is implementable without missing steps or violating architecture rules.
  • Design notes:
    • The checklist is dependency-first and grouped by schema, procedures, runtime services, and acceptance gates to maximize testability.
  • Test coverage summary:
    • No tests added in this change; checklist calls out required test gates for future work.
  • Observability updates:
    • No runtime changes in this change; checklist enumerates required telemetry and metrics work.
  • Risk & rollback plan:
    • Risk is limited to documentation drift; rollback is deleting the checklist and ADR entry.
  • Dependency rationale:
    • No new dependencies added. Alternatives considered: none required.
